Los Lunas Family School Digital Academy is a 6th grade-8th grade online learning academy offering flexible learning options to meet the learning needs of every student. Our students engage in a high caliber curriculum with personalized support from highly qualified teachers. The program is a hybrid program in which students receive content, instruction, and support online and attend in-person at least once a week.
- Our comprehensive curriculum is developed for online learning and is fully aligned to New Mexico and national standards.
- Rigorous core curriculum with courses that feature direct-instruction videos, student practice, assignments, performance tasks, and assessments.
- Cross-content project-based learning experiences that allow student collaboration and interaction. Students will participate in a minimum of two projects per semester.
- Students engage in learning activities that support multiple learning styles and a variety of ways to demonstrate understanding.
- A limited selection of electives will be available.
Our teachers are New Mexico certified teachers and employees of Los Lunas Schools. Our teachers are dedicated to each student’s success. They are trained in best practices in education, technology, and online learning. Our teachers will support students and families through whole group and small group instruction, coordinating projects and activities, monitoring student progress, and maintaining open communication with students and their Learning Coach.
- Students will be provided with a district-issued iPad. (Yearly technology user fees will apply according to district fee schedule).
- 9th-12th grade students will be provided with a district-issued iPad. (Yearly technology user fees will apply according to district fee schedule).
- High speed internet access in the home is preferred.
- Families with need will be provided with a mobile hotspot.
- Most curricular supplies and materials will be provided.
- Drive-by pick up times may be established as needed for families to pick up needed supplies.
- Families may be asked to provide basic school supplies and basic items found in most households.
